Former India, all-rounder Yuvraj Singh believes that Shubman Gill will be the greatest player for this generation. India has always been known to produce generational talents, be it Sunil Gavaskar in the early 70s, Sachin Tendulkar in the early 90s or Virat Kohli in this generation. One of the batters who is believed to be the superstar of the next generation is Shubman Gill.

Shubman Gill is known for his stroke-making and his ability to manipulate the bowlers to his strengths. He has been in red-hot form in 2023 having scored the most runs in ODIs this year. Shubman Gill has scored 1230 runs in 20 innings with a stunning average of 72.35 this year. Gill has made five half-centuries and five centuries this year including an innings of 208 against New Zealand.

Shubman Gill also won the orange cap in the IPL 2023 scoring 890 runs in 17 innings with an average of 59.33 including three centuries along the way. This year has been Gill’s year and Yuvraj Singh is not wrong to say that he has full potential to be the next superstar of Cricket. Yuvraj Singh has seen Shubman from his early cricketing days since both of them come from the land of Punjab, and he feels that Gill will dominate world cricket soon.

Yuvraj Singh Said That Shubman Gill Works Four Times Harder

“Shubman Gill has the potential to become the best player of this generation. The guy works hard. Since he was 19-20, his attitude has always been like that. He has worked four times harder than a normal guy since he was a kid. Whatever I have worked with him, he can be the player of this era. He (Gill) is in such a stage right now that he is fearless. He can be a game-changer for India in the World Cup. He opened up the game against Pakistan and put the bowlers under pressure.” said Yuvraj

Shubman Gill will open the innings for India in the World Cup and hopefully will live up to his expectations in his very first ICC Cricket World Cup campaign. He has been a part of the India U-19 team which won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2018 and Shubman Gill was awarded the Player of The Tournament in that event.
