IND vs AUS: Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Make A Comeback In The Indian Team Right After The World Cup- Report
After the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 ends, India will face Australia in a T20I series which will see most of the current Indian team players on rest. There are speculations that most of the players who won the gold medal for India in the Asian Games will be a part of this series. However, a key senior player is expected to make his international comeback in this series.
Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar is set to make his comeback with this series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has picked 11 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with an economy of 5.84. This also includes a five-wicket haul against Karnataka. “The selectors are likely to rest all the senior bowlers. In such a scenario, we need an experienced seamer like Bhuvneshwar to lead the attack. He may be recalled,” a source said.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar last played an international match in November 2022, against New Zealand and since then he has only been seen in domestic cricket and IPL. He did not have an auspicious ICC T20 World Cup in 2022, after which he was dropped from the team but now after performing again in the domestic circuit, he is ready to don the Indian jersey again.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar To Mark His Return In The Indian Team
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played 21 Tests, 121 ODIs, and over 87 T20Is for India. He has taken 63 Test wickets, 141 ODI wickets, and 90 T20I wickets in his career. He is known for his brilliant in-swinging deliveries that have always left a huge impact on his bowling. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a lot of experience in terms of international cricket. If he returns to the Indian team, he will be in a leadership role for the youngsters who will be a part of the Indian squad.
India will play five T20Is with Australia after the World Cup. Australia has already announced their squad naming Matthew Wade as the captain. BCCI will shortly announce their full squad and it is speculated that Ruturaj Gaikwad will be leading the Indian side.
India won the gold medal under Ruturaj Gaikwad’s leadership at the Asian Games. He has been a good leadership figure for the Indian side. He was also the vice-captain when India visited Ireland before the Asia Cup. So India can propel under his leadership and might be able to beat the Australians.
